Literacy Coach

Welcome to Sawgrass Bay's Literacy Corner
      Reading is valued at Sawgrass Bay.  We know that the more we read the better we get!  Some of the cool reading activities that we take part in is promoting our school wide vocabulary word of the day.  We learn new  "Wow" words and write about them in our journals daily.  Some students also take part in Reading Paws.  A program where students read to trained therapy dogs. This builds confidence in students as they practice reading.     BooksAR is a proven program where students read books, answer comprehension questions and earn points.  Classes will be competing against eachother on a monthly basis to see who earns the AR STAR.  In addition, the student from each class with the highest points during the first 9 weeks will be invited to an Root Beer Float Social!  At Sawgrass Bay....we love to read!
