Current Events:   
The purpose of this Newsletter is to let you know what skills your child will be working on in the coming week and to let you know the story, vocabulary and spelling words that they will need to study during the week.  We will also try to give you tips to help you study or explanations of how to work with your child.

READING STORY:   Story Vocabulary:

Your child should be able to read these words with ease.  Have them make up a sentence using each of the words. 
 
Language Skill: 

Robust Vocabulary Students should understand what these , words mean when they hear them in the context of a sentence or story.  They should be able to use them correctly when speaking.

Spelling List:
 
Students should be able to
  • spell their spelling words correctly
  • write their letters using the lines and spaces
  • write their letters facing the correct direction
  • Sentences need to start with a capital letter and end with correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling words spelled correctly.
 
 
Sight Vocabulary
 Your child should be able to read these words without having to sound them out.
