Leesburg Lady Lifters
Welcome to the Reigning District 6 Sub-Sectional Champion Leesburg Lady Lifters home page. It is with great excitement that we are entering our 5th year of existence at Leesburg High School. We are returning a ton of experienced, seasoned, and successful lifters this year, as we only graduated several from last year. The Leesburg Lady Lifter Program is coming off a highly successful regular season, a District 6 Sub-Sectional Championship that qualified 15 girls to Sectionals, qualified 3 lifters to the State Championships, and brought home the first State medals in our program's young history. At the FHSAA State Finals, we brought home 3rd and 4th place medals, Top 6 places medal at State. We, as a program, are not satisfied. We want more and are poised to take this program the next step.
On this site, you will find pictures of past teams within the program, our roster (which continues to grow), the schedule (which will be complete in October), useful links related to our sport, and a blog. I will be having an after school meeting in the first part of September for new lifters, and I will have an announcement made for any young lady who may be interested in joining the program to attend. This meeting will take place in the multi-purpose room of the gym, Time T.B.A.
If a young lady is interested in joining, I encourage them to find me in the gym or weight room, introduce themselves, and I will set them up with an Athletic Packet and needed information. I promise the parents of my lifters that should your daughter choose to join our program, and stick it out, they will discover qualities about themselves they weren't aware of before, they will hold themselves with pride and confidence, they will take pride in themselves and their teammates, and they will be successful in the weight room and outside of it. It has been a wonderful experience for the ladies that have invested in themselves and the program. I promise that it will change your daughters for the better.
We have been very fortunate to experience the success that we have. Our success is a product of our work ethic, our commitment, and the qualities that each young lady brings to the weight room with them. Working with the kind of young ladies that I deal with has made building this program easy and enjoyable. It is through our commitment and strong relationship that the lifters and I have started a girls program this school has never experienced before. These young ladies take pride in what we do and what they have accomplished so far. Having said that, this sport may not be for everyone. These girls aren't afraid of sweat, clanging metal plates, bumper plates that are noisy when dropped, chalking up their hands, the Iron Jungle (weight room), or even the smell of the weight room. They love these things because this is where they have developed and progressed into the program they are today.
I will tell any parent of a prospective lifter that if your daughter makes this commitment, she will not regret her decision. We have a ton of experienced lifters returning, so the development and transition period will be easier for any new comer. New lifters will have the luxury of developing under the leadership of girls that have experienced the transition of becoming a lifter themselves, perfected technique, developing into a weight lifter, and becoming successful young ladies that understand what it takes to be Champions.
With the strong support of the Administrative Staff, faculty, student body, parents, and fellow coaches, The Leesburg Lady Lifters look forward to another successful season. I'm currently setting up our fundraisers, parent meeting, Lift-a-Thon, schedule, and all the other things that go along with coaching. I have a great group of parents that make a lot of things easy on the girls and myself, and I would thank them for all they do.
Thank you Lady Lifter Parents!!!
