Lake County Schools launches new websites

When parents begin to logon to their child’s school website for the upcoming school year, they’ll be looking at a newly redesigned site.

Lake County Schools successfully launched new websites this week for the School District and 45 elementary, middle and high schools. The District upgraded its content management solution with its contracted vendor Schoolwires to Centricity2. During the upgrade process, new templates were designed for the District and school websites.

“The Lake County School District is continually looking for opportunities to model 21st Century learning,” said Dr. Susan Moxley, Superintendent of Lake County Schools. “We want to be able to leverage the technology for parents and students to obtain information about their School District.”

The new websites offer an updated design with more content areas on the front page and larger rotating photos. The District’s new website (www.lake.k12.fl.us) also offers additional features including video on the front page, web banners, language translation and links to the District’s social media channels. Another new feature of the District website is four tabs at the top of the page: District, Parents, Community & School. Each tab offers different sets of information and access to departments, programs and news targeted for the audience. Users can register to create an account to customize their content, such as choosing a teacher’s page and the updates they would like to receive.
