Lake County Schools

Lake County Schools recently discovered that confidential student education records were inadvertently shared with an individual who was not authorized to receive them. The information involved approximately 1,800 students.

Upon discovering the incident, the district immediately took steps to address the situation, including requesting that the information be permanently deleted and not shared with others. We are also pursuing additional legal measures to protect the confidentiality of these records.

We take the privacy and security of student information very seriously and regret that this incident occurred.

Parents and guardians of affected students are being notified individually. We are also reviewing our internal procedures to help prevent a similar incident in the future.

Protecting our students and maintaining the trust of our families remain priorities for Lake County Schools.
