The School Board meets for Regular Meetings on the second and fourth Monday of each month, unless otherwise noted.  In accordance with Florida’s Sunshine Law, all meetings are open to the public, except Executive Sessions

Types of Meetings

Regular Meetings and Workshops:

• Location: Regular Meetings are held in the Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Bldg., 315 W. Main St. Workshops are held at the discretion of the Superintendent and Chairman in the Board Room of the Lake County School District, 201 West Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, Florida.

• CDC Guidelines: Meetings follow CDC guidelines unless otherwise noted.

• Live Streaming: Workshops are streamed live on the School Board's YouTube Channel and can be viewed later. Regular Meetings are streamed live from the Lake County Board of County Commissioners website at: https://lakecountyfl.portal.civicclerk.com/

• Workshops: No formal action is taken.

Special Meetings:

• Discretion: Held at the discretion of the Superintendent and School Board.

• Location: Typically at Lake County School District, 201 West Burleigh Boulevard or Commission Chambers, 315 W. Main St., Tavares, FL.

• CDC Guidelines: Meetings follow CDC guidelines unless otherwise noted.

• Live Streaming: Special Meetings are streamed live through the link at the top of the page.

• Formal Action: Formal actions are taken during these meetings.

Public Hearings:

• Purpose: Allows for public participation before the School Board takes formal action.

• Open to Public: Public hearings are open to the public.

Notifications and Participation

Meeting Notices:

• Publication: Notices are published in the Daily Commercial at least seven (7) days before a meeting or workshop.

• Posting: Notices are posted in the lobby of the Lake County School District Office, 201 West Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, Florida and on the website calendar.

Viewing Agendas:

• BoardDocs Tab: View meeting agendas.

• Meeting Information: The site provides links to meeting videos and all pertinent agenda items.

Public Participation:

• Addressing the Board: Attend a meeting or workshop and fill out a public input card at the entrance to the Board meeting room.

• Speaking Time: Each speaker has 3 minutes to address the Board at the beginning of the Meeting or Workshop.
