To ensure a safe educational environment, the School Board of Lake County has purchased excess casualty insurance for students in district-operated schools. This insurance provides secondary coverage, supplementing personal health insurance to reduce out-of-pocket costs in case of injury. The coverage applies during school hours and most school activities, excluding football.

The student accident insurance may be voluntarily upgraded to include 24-hour coverage (including non-school related activities) and/or Football.
