TAVARES – Lake County Schools is now posting legally required advertisements and public notices on its website at lake.k12.fl.us .
The “Legal Ads & Public Notices” link is just beneath the video reel on the site’s home page.
Previously, this information was published only in local newspapers, but the Lake County School Board on June 10, 2024, approved the use of the website in alignment with a change to Florida Statute 50.0311. The statute also provides for property owners and residents to opt to receive the notices by first-class mail or email. Those wishing to do so are asked to contact School Board Clerk Natalie Challenger at ChallengerN@lake.k12.fl.us.
Currently, the page shows a notice of proposed tax increases, the Lake County School Board budget summary and a notice of tax for school capital outlay.
