Dear Umatilla Community,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Umatilla Middle School. Home of the Tigers! We are an academically focused learning center where we believe in ourselves, work hard and never give up! I am honored and proud to be the Principal at Umatilla Middle.

My name is Andrea Pyatt and I have worked for Lake County Schools for the past eighteen years. I enjoyed my time in the classroom as a Science Teacher but my desire to help even more students lead me to a district position. In that role, I had the opportunity to work with teachers and leaders from across the district. In 2017, I accepted a position at Umatilla High as an Assistant Principal. At the high school, I was able to work with our collaborative teacher teams to ensure we were student-centered, lessons were standards-aligned and relationships were positive. I also engaged with the community and most importantly, I advocated for opportunity for all students of Umatilla High. I will continue this work and more at Umatilla Middle.

At Umatilla Middle, I will grow and nurture positive relationships with all stakeholders. I will empower our teacher leaders and strengthen the systems of professional learning for all. Our students will learn at high levels, build academic knowledge and skills and believe in themselves. I will work hard every day to inspire the love of learning in our children. With a focus on helping all members of our school community learn, grow and achieve, I am incredibly excited to join the Tiger family and lead this great school. #UMSTigerPride
